Kid's Tournament - age 16 and under can fish for free

Teams or Individuals: the competition is limited to 6 people per boat (4 adults max). Kids 16 and under can fish for free. Each boat is considered one team. No boat is needed for an individual fisherman - you may fish from the bank, pier, or wade and be recognized as a 1-person team.

All persons in a boat must be entered in the tournament - limit 6 per boat with 4 adults max.

All federal, state, & tournament rules will be abided by, including having a valid fishing license. See updated fishing rules at https://tpwd.texas.gov/regulations/outdoor-annual/fishing/

Weigh-in begins at 3:00pm & ends at 4:30pm. Any teams not in line with their fish by 4:30pm will not be allowed to weigh-in.

All trout must be of legal measurement (15-20 inches), according to current TPWD guidelines.

In an effort to protect the fishery, trout over 28" WILL NOT BE ALLOWED IN ANY CATEGORY (no tagged trout will be allowed in any category).

Oversized tagged redfish will be weighed in as "Heaviest Other" category. Oversized tagged redfish are not allowed in the "Heaviest Redfish" category or the "Heaviest Combined Stringer" category.

A single fish can be entered in multiple categories (i.e. a single trout can be entered in 3 categories - Heaviest Trout, Heaviest Trout Stringer, Heaviest Combined Stringer).

A kid's fish can count as the kid's entry AND count as the team’s entry.

IN THE EVENT OF A TIE FOR WEIGHT, THE WINNER WILL BE THE TEAM WHO WEIGHED IN THEIR FISH FIRST.

No person with a U.S. Coast Guard Captain's License that has guided professionally in the last 5 years, or anyone known to have been a guide in the last 5 years may fish in this tournament.

The fishing area is restricted to the inshore waters of the bay/water to one nautical mile offshore of the beach & jetties.

All fish must be caught by pole or rod & reel in adherence to State Law on the day of the tournament.

All fish submitted for weigh-in must be in a fresh, edible condition. Frozen, thawed, spoiled, pale gilled, or altered (tail shaving) fish, not in its natural state, will be disqualified.

ALL decisions of tournament officials are final. NO APPEALS. The tournament officials reserve the right to refuse entry to the tournament at will.

Fish cannot be swapped after a team member is in line for weigh-in. All fish entered in tournament MUST be identified and separated prior to being brought to weigh-in tables. THIS MEANS YOU MUST HAVE THE FISH ON THE TABLE THAT YOU WANT TO WEIGH IN – YOU CANNOT SWAP OUT FISH ONCE IN LINE.

Any team violating State or Federal Law will be disqualified in the category in which the violation occurred.

The validity of catch is left up to the discretion of the weigh master.

No refunds for inclement weather.

ANY AND ALL FISH WILL BE ACCEPTED AND APPRECIATED FOR DONATION FOR THE MEAL ON SATURDAY EVENING.
KIDS TROPHIES: awarded for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place in the following categories.

CASH POTS: Optional entry. CASH ONLY.
You are eligible to win in the pot(s) you enter. Teams must enter pots by 7:00pm on Friday, July 11th.
The top 3 places will be divided with a 50%-35%-15% payout.
The following 3 categories will payout ONE WINNER ONLY: Most Spots Redfish, Heaviest Other, & Heaviest Flounder.

Heaviest Trout ($50 entry) - must be 15"-20"

Heaviest Trout Stringer ($50 entry) - 3 Trout, must be 15"-20"

Heaviest Redfish ($50 entry) - must be 20"-28"

Heaviest Redfish Stringer ($50 entry) - 3 Redfish, must be 20"-28"

Heaviest Combined Stringer ($50 entry) - 2 Redfish - must be "20-28" AND 3 Trout - must be "15-20"
